# Aaltra

> Aaltra is the software partner for connected hardware. We start where hardware
> can communicate: we work out what people actually need from a connected
> product, then design and build the app, the HMI display or the cloud platform
> that turns it into something they use. Based in Melle near Ghent, Belgium,
> working across Europe, and at your location within a day.

Aaltra has been building software for connected products since 2007, for
manufacturers, machine builders and asset-heavy operators. The work runs from
research and product definition through design and development, on top of our
own framework, so we build without relearning the same lessons each time.

Security is a design principle here rather than a later phase: Aaltra is
ISO 27001 certified and works hands-on with the EU Cyber Resilience Act, which
applies to nearly every connected product on the European market.

There are three ways to start, listed under Services below: a **product
definition** when something new is being built, a **connected product
diagnostic** when it is already built and something is not landing, and
**straight to build** when the brief is already clear.

## What Aaltra does not do

Aaltra builds software from the moment hardware can communicate. Hardware and
electronics design sit just outside that line: Aaltra advises on them and works
alongside the specialists who do them, but does not build them. Websites,
marketing and e-commerce are outside the scope entirely.
